Joohee Jin repeatedly focuses on figures and fragments of the body, capturing the tension that emerges between gaze and intimacy. The scenes depicted appear as calm moments of everyday life, yet the figures’ gestures and expressions, contrasts of color, and the arrangement of objects and composition subtly allude to unspoken emotions and personal narratives. The artist invites viewers to become aware of their own position and gaze in relation to the image, revealing painterly how the act of looking itself generates psychological tension.
