Year l 2025Presented in Woochan Noh’s first solo exhibition DDDD, OX Bubble is a new work that encapsulates the artist’s painterly practice of thinking less and moving more in the act of painting. The work quietly conveys a sense of resolve and emotion as the artist seeks to reestablish himself amid the anticipation and anxiety surrounding his debut solo exhibition.

노우찬 작가의 첫 개인전 ㄷㄷㄷㄷ에서 선보이는 OX 비눗방울은 생각은 덜고 더 많이 움직인 그림을 그리겠다는 작가의 회화적 실천이 집약된 신작이다. 이 작품은 첫 개인전을 앞둔 기대와 불안 속에서 자신을 다시 세우려는 의지와 감정을 담백하게 보여준다.



The layered traces of color across the canvas form a warm, condensed surface of honest brushwork rather than a fixed narrative. The figure, reduced to circular forms and simple lines reminiscent of soap bubbles, is not a static symbol but arranged like a drifting choreography within the pictorial space, conveying a sense of vitality. Approaching the viewer like a light greeting “hello” rather than through complex interpretation, the image draws attention away from information and toward the work itself.

화면 위 겹겹이 쌓인 색의 흔적은 구체적인 서사 대신 작가의 솔직한 붓질이 응축된 온기 있는 표면을 형성한다. 비눗방울 같은 원형과 선으로 요약된 인물 형상은 고정된 기호가 아니라 화면 속을 유영하는 안무처럼 배치되어 생동하는 기운을 전한다. 복잡한 해석보다 '안녕'이라는 가벼운 인사처럼 다가오는 이 이미지는 정보보다 작품 자체에 집중하게 한다.
