Jieun Lee's solo exhibition When Silence Builds presents a sensory structure formed through the intersection of the axes of human presence, space, and time. The artist renders emotional landscapes condensed beyond material structures, focusing not on the direct depiction of decisive moments but on the stillness that lingers after everything has disappeared or just before a scene begins. Through this approach, space is reconfigured from a merely physical site into a place where memory and time accumulate. Within the pictorial field, silence emerges not as absence but as fullness, and stillness unfolds as a layered resonance rather than emptiness.

이지은 개인전 When Silence Builds: 고요의 층위는 인간, 공간, 시간의 축이 교차하며 형성하는 감각적 구조를 탐색한다. 작가는 물질적 구조 너머에 응축된 정서의 풍경을 그려내며, 결정적 순간을 직접 재현하기보다 모든 것이 사라진 뒤의 여백이나 장면이 시작되기 직전의 정적에 주목한다. 이를 통해 공간은 단순한 물리적 장소를 넘어 기억과 시간이 축적된 장소로 치환된다. 화면 속 고요는 부재가 아닌 충만으로, 정적은 공허가 아닌 깊은 울림의 층위로 구축된다.











Human: A Familiar Stranger
Rather than presenting the human figure as the protagonist of a narrative, it is approached as a presence that briefly lingers before disappearing.

인간 : 친숙한 이방인
인간을 서사의 주체로 제시하기보다, 한순간 머물렀다 사라지는 존재로 바라보려 한다.








Space: Still Architecture
Through parallel perspectives and restrained planes of color, rather than linear perspective or narrative composition, architecture in stillness transforms into a scene that carries condensed sensations and the density of time.

공간 : Still Architecture
원근법이나 서사적 구성보다는 병렬적 시선과 제한된 색면을 통해, 정지된 건축은 응축된 감각과 시간의 밀도를 머금은 장면으로 전환된다.







Time: Bloom in the Night
The flower functions as a motif that condenses the structure of dreams, operating as a trace of time, a resonance of emotion, and a premonition of sensations yet to arrive.

시간 : Bloom in the Night
‘꽃’은 꿈의 구조를 응축한 모티프로, 시간의 흔적, 감정의 잔향, 도래하지 않은 감각의 예고로 작동한다.
