Seungha Noh

Emotions shaped by childhood deprivation and disconnection become a self-contained universe in Noh’s hands. Her paintings are not a retreat from loss but a way of staying beside loneliness. Within the frame, an imagined presence gathers into recurring figures of dolls and houses.

The dolls become both others and the self, carrying lost time and emotion. Resting inside boxes, they inhabit an intimate space the artist calls “home”—a refuge and a quiet isolation. Yet Noh does not cast this stillness as sorrow. Her dolls stand with muted resilience, and the box becomes the smallest universe in which they endure.

Ink and pigment absorbed into paper spread slowly, like a lingering feeling. The green born from deep ink and warm yellow becomes a middle light—a threshold where life and death, fullness and emptiness meet. In that subtle place, the artist builds her own calm, carrying loss as she moves forward.

This exhibition becomes a record of returning to oneself. The dolls, the houses, and the time they hold form her most candid self-conversation—a quiet process of healing. By choosing to stay with loneliness rather than turn away, Noh moves gently, step by step, closer to herself.

Jihyun Park

Jihyun Park’s paintings hover between reality and imagination. What first appears to depict the visible world gradually opens into an interior landscape. Through layered colors, her images become spaces where memories and emotions gather, and her figures shift between portraits of others and quiet reflections of the artist herself.

She explores the anxieties, tensions, and fragile imperfections that shape the psyche. Her figures feel both familiar and strange—as if the boundaries of self and others momentarily overlap—while her landscapes slip from fixed notions of time and place. In these drifting spaces, memories, loss, and the desire to be understood rise with a faint hope for healing.

Soft layers of oil paint and slow, deliberate brushstrokes evoke time rising from within. The recurring motifs of islands, pools, and faces become mirrors of the inner self and windows that open toward others and the world.

This exhibition is not a final answer but a record of a journey toward the self. By facing anxiety and solitude, she moves toward understanding and acceptance. Through this quiet process, Park is getting closer to herself.

Sorue Song

Many remember hiding beneath a dining table in childhood—holding their breath, waiting to be found. Song’s work begins at that moment. The tension of concealing oneself, of being almost discovered, remains in her. The figures and spaces she paints exist at the threshold of reality and imagination, where the desire not to be forgotten meets the longing to be seen.

Painting becomes a journey through the fractures of emotion—a search for oneself. Closed rooms and emptied spaces act as shelters for the self and as routes back toward the world. The quiet tension within her structures and layered colors reveals a delicate portrait of human presence—its wounds and its stillness held together.

Song understands love and fear, calm and unease not as opposites but as states that lean upon one another. The figures and spaces balance on this fragile ground.

Painting, for her, is an ongoing game of hide-and-seek—not a call to be discovered by someone else, but a process of seeking herself. Along that path, she moves quietly, yet surely, closer to herself.

노승하

어린 시절의 결핍과 단절에서 비롯된 감정은 노승하의 손끝에서 하나의 세계로 형상화된다. 그림은 상실을 잊기 위한 도피가 아니라, 외로움과 마주 서기 위한 방식이다. 그는 화면 안에서 ‘함께 있어주는 존재’를 상상하고, 그 상상이 쌓여 인형과 집의 이미지로 되살아난다.

작업 속 인형은 타인이자 자아이며, 잃어버린 시간과 감정의 은유다. 상자 속에 자리한 인형들은 작가가 구축한 작고 사적인 세계인 ‘집’에 머문다. 그곳은 보호막이자 고립의 공간이지만, 노승하는 그 고요를 슬픔으로 그리지 않는다. 그의 인형들은 고독을 품은 채 스스로를 지탱하며, 상자는 그들이 존재할 수 있는 최소한의 우주가 된다.

장지와 순지, 광목천 위에 스며든 먹과 안료의 결은 감정의 잔향처럼 느리게 번진다. 먹의 깊은 검정과 노란 안료가 만나 형성되는 녹색은 죽음과 생명, 허와 실이 교차하는 중간의 빛이다. 그 미묘한 경계 속에서 작가는 자신만의 고요를 구축하며, 상실을 껴안고 앞으로 나아간다.

이 전시는 그렇게 자신에게 돌아가는 여정의 기록이다. 작품 속 인형과 집, 그 안의 시간들은 모두 작가 자신을 향한 가장 정직한 대화이자 회복의 과정이다. 노승하는 외로움을 회피하지 않고 그것과 함께 머무름으로써, 조금씩 자신에게 가까워지고 있다.

박지현

박지현의 회화는 실제와 환상의 경계를 넘나든다. 눈앞의 현실을 재현한 듯하지만, 실은 내면의 풍경을 시각화한 것이다. 다채로운 색채로 구성된 배경은 감정과 기억이 응축된 심상의 공간이며, 그 속의 인물들은 누군가의 초상이자 결국 자기 자신을 향한 시선이다.

작가는 인간 내면의 불안, 갈등, 불완전함을 탐구한다. 익숙하면서도 낯선 인물들은 자신과 타인의 얼굴이 겹쳐진 듯 모호하고, 풍경은 시간과 장소의 경계를 잃은 채 가상의 장면으로 변모한다. 그 안에는 과거의 기억과 상실의 정서가 겹겹이 배어 있으며, 동시에 이해받고자 하는 욕망과 회복의 희망이 교차한다.

유화로 쌓아올린 부드러운 색의 층과 느린 붓질은 마음속에서 길어 올린 시간을 닮았다. 반복되는 ‘섬’, ‘물 웅덩이’, ‘얼굴’의 형상들은 내면을 비추는 거울이자, 타인과 세계를 향한 창이다. 박지현에게 회화는 자신을 들여다보는 동시에 타인에게 다가가기 위한 언어이며, 감정을 조심스레 드러내는 과정이다.

이 전시는 완결된 응답이 아닌, 자신에게 도달하기 위한 여정의 기록이다. 작가는 불안과 고독, 그 틈새의 감정을 외면하지 않고 마주함으로써, 자신을 이해하고 받아들이는 길 위에 서 있다. 박지현의 회화는 그 여정의 흔적이며, 그 고요한 과정 속에서 조금씩, 그러나 분명히 자신에게 가까워지는 중이다.

송소류

누구나 한 번쯤, 어린 시절 식탁 밑에 숨어 자신을 찾아주길 기다린 기억이 있다. 송소류의 회화 역시 그 기억에서 출발한다. 몸을 숨기고, 들킬 듯 말 듯 마음 졸이던 순간은 시간 속에 묻히지 않고 작가의 내면에 남았다. 화면 속 인물과 공간은 현실과 상상의 경계 위에 놓여, 잊히지 않기를 바라는 마음과 발견되길 바라는 욕망이 교차한다.

그림은 감정의 균열 속에서 자신을 찾아가는 여정이다. 닫힌 방과 비어 있는 자리는 내면의 은신처이자, 세상과 다시 연결되기 위한 통로가 된다. 유려한 색의 층과 단정한 구도 속에서도 흐르는 잔잔한 긴장감은 내면의 상처와 고요를 동시에 담아 인간 존재의 섬세한 초상을 드러낸다.

작가는 삶을 구성하는 사랑과 두려움, 평온과 불안 같은 모순된 감정들은 분리하지 않는다. 송소류는 그 감정들이 서로를 지탱하는 구조물이라 믿으며, 그 결합 속에서 균형을 세운다. 화면 속 인물과 공간은 바로 그 불완전한 균형 위에서 버티는 존재들이다.

송소류에게 회화는 끝나지 않은 숨바꼭질이다. 그러나 이 전시는 더 이상 누군가에게 발견되기 위함이 아니라, 스스로를 찾아 나서는 과정이다. 그녀는 그 길 위에서, 천천히 그러나 확실히 자신에게 가까워지는 중이다.
