Jieun Lee paints the stillness that settles in familiar spaces—the interval after a moment has passed, or before one begins. Walls, windows, light, and shadow function not as architectural elements but as thresholds where memory and emotion take root. Working through repeated grids, softened outlines, and muted, low-saturation color, she turns the familiar strange, leading viewers to sense the time embedded in the painted surface. In her work, silence is not absence but fullness, where human presence, space, and time converge into a single resonant scene.
이지은은 익숙한 공간 속에 머무는 고요를 그린다. 순간이 사라진 뒤의 여백, 혹은 장면이 시작되기 직전의 정적에 주목하며, 벽과 창, 빛과 그림자를 건축적 요소가 아니라 기억과 감정이 머무는 틀로 다룬다. 반복되는 격자, 흐릿한 윤곽, 낮은 채도의 색감을 통해 익숙한 풍경을 낯설게 전환시키고, 관람자가 화면 속에 스며든 시간을 감각하도록 이끈다. 그의 작업에서 고요는 결핍이 아니라 충만이며, 인물과 공간, 시간이라는 축이 하나의 장면으로 응축된다.
