Gyutae Hwang  (b.1938) is a leading contemporary Korean photographer active since the 1960s, recognized as a pioneering artist who has continuously expanded the experimental possibilities of the photographic medium. After graduating from Dongguk University with a degree in Political Science, he worked as a photojournalist for the Kyunghyang Shinmun before fully dedicating himself to his artistic practice. He has spearheaded the movement of Korean experimental photography by exploring various avant-garde techniques, including film burning, image compositing, analog montage, and multiple exposure.From the 1980s onward, fueled by an interest in digital imagery, he further developed his montage and collage works. Since the 1990s, he has consistently pursued projects that explore the "pixel," the fundamental and smallest unit of a digital image. His works are held in the collections of major institutions such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA), and Museum Hanmi. He is highly regarded as a crucial figure who has demonstrated the expansive potential of Korean photographic art.

황규태(b.1938)는 1960년대부터 활동해온 대표적인 한국 현대 사진가로, 사진 매체의 실험적 가능성을 지속적으로 확장해온 선구적인 작가이다. 동국대학교 정치학과를 졸업한 뒤 경향신문 사진기자를 거쳐 본격적으로 작품 활동을 시작했으며, 필름 버닝, 합성, 아날로그 몽타주, 다중 노출 등 다양한 실험적 기법을 시도하며 한국 실험사진의 흐름을 이끌어왔다. 1980년대 이후에는 디지털 이미지에 대한 관심을 바탕으로 몽타주와 콜라주 작업을 발전시켰고, 1990년대부터는 디지털 이미지의 최소 단위인 ‘픽셀’을 탐구하는 작업을 지속해왔다. 그의 작품은 국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관, 뮤지엄한미 등 주요 기관에 소장되어 있으며 한국 사진 예술의 확장 가능성을 보여준 중요한 작가로 평가받고 있다.
